The Office of the Provost is pleased to announce the winners of the 2008 Wayne State University Summer Stipend Awards.  This new program was designed to encourage undergraduates to participate in research and creative activities under the guidance of a faculty member.

Ninety students applied for awards, from which 26 students were chosen to receive awards.  The winning students are listed below.  The review and selection process was conducted by the Academic Senate Research Committee under its chair, Professor Harley Y. Tse.

This program provides summer stipend support for WSU undergraduates who have identified a faculty mentor with whom they will work during the 2008 summer semester.

Awards will provide the undergraduate student with a stipend of $2,500 and the faculty  mentor $500 for supplies to support this research or creative activity.
